National Quilting Day March 20th is a day of service.
This day is to recognize and appreciate the quilt makers: their skill, the warmth and the results. Because of the special skill you have been blessed with, we would like you to stop by Quilt N Go on Saturday March 20th between 10am and 3pm to volunteer a few minutes of your time to make a pillowcase for charity. We will have machines set up and kits cut. If you can’t get to a machine when you get here, you can help iron. Let’s make this a successful community project.
American Patchwork & Quilting® magazine is challenging quilters, crafters and sewers across the country to “Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference.”
Local quilting enthusiasts will join the cause to help reach the goal of making and donating one million pillowcases to benefit local charities. Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community.
A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.
Here at Quilt N Go we are asking our customers to make pillowcases and bring them into the store to be donated to a local charity and update the pillowcase counter at allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases. The counter will track nationwide progress toward the goal of one million pillowcases.
We see the One Million Pillowcase Challenge as a way to give back to the local community.
Dig into that stash or buy a pillowcase kit from the store. If you purchase a pillowcase kit from the store during 2010 and bring the finished case back to be donated, you will receive $3.00 store credit for each pillowcase. Please help QNG to reach our personal local goal of 1000 pillowcases for charity.

We donated fabric to Hospice to make quilts for the beds of the patients that live at the hospice center. Tonight at the CalCo quilt guild meeting, 5 of the volunteers that make the quilts brought them to show. The pictures are not the best but it was dark and they kept moving around. We love seeing the results of our charitable donations.
