Who doesn't love feathers? You know you drool over them at quilt shows. You've been doing some free motion quilting and you're ready to try something new. Learn 2 ways to free motion feather designs on your domestic machine. Practice feathers using pencil and paper or dry erase board and erasable marker. When you are comfortable drawing, then move to the machine for stitching.
Sewing Machine in good working order. Don't forget the manual. (If you need your machine cleaned and serviced, you can bring it to the store and get it cleaned here!)
Quilting foot or darning foot for your machine. (Not a walking foot.)
Fabric: (6) 18" squares of white or natural muslin
(3) 18" squares of batting
Thread matching or contrasting. 50 wt. cotton is a good choice
Needles: Size 80 sharps (Also called metallica or metafil)
Basic sewing supplies including fabric marker, gripping gloves, small scissors
Please have your quilt "sandwiches" prepared - either pinned or spray basted
